Incheon Port Authority Visits LogisValley Incheon Port GDC to Discuss E-Commerce Activation

Incheon Port Authority (IPA, President Lee Kyung-gyu) announced on the 29th that Vice President of Operations Kim Sang-gi visited LogisValley Incheon Port GDC, located in the E-commerce Specialized Zone of Aam Logistics Complex 2, to inspect opening preparations and discuss measures for early operational activation.

Last year, e-commerce import and export volume transited through Incheon Port reached $302 million, recording a 32.7% growth compared to $227 million in 2022. Furthermore, first-quarter performance this year reached $80 million—a 43.7% increase year-on-year—sustaining a steady upward trajectory.

Incheon Port Authority stated that to maintain this momentum in import and export cargo growth, leadership visited the e-commerce fulfillment center in person, toured the logistics field, and held discussions with company executives on strategic measures to invigorate e-commerce logistics.

LogisValley Incheon Port GDC, the focus of this visit, is the pioneering tenant in the E-commerce Specialized Zone. Through its e-commerce GDC center constructed with a total investment of 103.3 billion KRW (based on the execution plan), the company projects generating an annual cargo volume of 30,772 TEU based on a cross-border e-commerce business model for globally popular K-culture goods, including music albums, merchandise, and fashion items.

During the visit, LogisValley Incheon Port GDC requested support in key areas, including: △Establishing a streamlined customs clearance environment, △Identifying joint initiatives to promote cross-border e-commerce exports.

Kim Sang-gi, Vice President of Operations at Incheon Port Authority, stated, "Incheon Port is rapidly advancing into an e-commerce logistics hub through its designation as a Comprehensive Bonded Area and the opening of the nation's largest maritime express center." He added, "We will continue to inspect field operations directly and formulate practical support measures that reflect industry feedback to further stimulate e-commerce trade."
